Infection of skin and subcutaneous tissue
- spreads across fascial planes
- many microbes can be responsible

Aetiology
Group A Beta Hemolytic Strep (S. pyogenes)
- most common cause monomicrobial
S. Aureus / MRSA
Vibrio
